Background:
My client is a provider of geospatial management information and solutions, customized to the needs of clients in the Agriculture, Forestry, Power & Communication, Environmental and Governmental markets.
As its main data source, the company operates a constellation of five identical high-resolution earth observation satellites capable of imaging any point on earth every day. Combining the knowledge and skills of their professional staff with the unique features of their satellite constellation and ground processing facility, they are the only provider who can supply the most up-to-date, customized information to clients around the world.
This is a special opportunity to be directly involved in the operation of a unique remote sensing satellite constellation. The company has several immediate openings for senior and intermediate satellite operations engineers with satellite operation experience. You will be joining the existing team of twenty engineers and operators, responsible for the operation of the entire system, including space and ground segments.
Requirements
The Challenge:
? Direct involvement, together with a small team, in the day-to-day operation and
safekeeping of the company's five-satellite constellation
? Critical system parameters monitoring, trending, analysis
? Investigation of anomalies and technical issues, resolving them, implementation of
work-around solutions in case of failures, temporary or permanent, or system degradations
? Become familiar with the rest of the system and participate with other engineers in the resolution of issues, analysis of error conditions and handling of emergency events
? Improve and adapt to needs of the operation strategies, processes and procedures

Skills:
? University degree (aerospace engineering or other applicable)
? Strong practical experience in satellite operations, preferably EO and LEOs;
constellation experience would be an asset
? Solid knowledge of satellite systems (power, propulsion, AOCS, etc.)
? Familiarity with SSTL (Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd.) satellite systems and
approach to operation would be an asset
? Practical experience in the use of the software Satellite Tool Kit (STK)
? Familiarity with the Linux operating system would be an asset.
? Fluent in written and spoken English; German a plus, other languages welcome
